“The Bombers Behind the Scenes” is a short documentary highlighting the essential, yet mostly unseen, work of athletic trainers (ATs) at Ithaca College. Honing in on the meaning of athletic training, specifically for the IC Women’s Soccer team, the trainers and athletes offer insight about how the team is able to maintain success.
First-hand perspectives from AT staff Courtney Gray, Derek Baldin, and Sammi Meyer point out common misconceptions about the profession, the communication that goes into it, and what they would like others to know.
With the responsibilities of ATs extending far beyond taped ankles or injury treatments, the support systems they provide and the connections they form do not go unnoticed by the athletic community.
