Through research, interviews with local environmentalists, experts, and a local journalist, Makai Yllanes explores the lack of transparency and communication between Cargill Salt Mine and the New York Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) with the public. Finding answers to the environmental concerns caused by Cargill Salt Mine under Cayuga Lake is important in creating a healthy long-lasting community.
